Question 1: I believe that Kantz feels that both facts and opinions are the same thing with a twist. The twist being how the reader perceives the information given to them. The argument between fact and opinion is that the reader will accept facts without being proved but may want further explanation. An opinion however is perceived as a claim and may require further proof but even after this is given it may be decided that their is still only limited truth to the information given and may still be open for further discussion..
Question 2: Misunderstanding how the Kinneavy's triangle works by only considering 1 point.
Not setting goals or asking questions before starting research.
Blindly accepting ideas
Not understanding the idea of Rhetorical analysis and falling into a gap.
Not summarizing main ideas of reading.
Yes I feel she is correct in that we fall into a gap of only perceiving what is easily available instead of considering all information available.
I understand the goal of Rhetorical research but I am not sure I completely understand how to put it to use.
A and E Question 2: It's been 20 years since I have been in high school and have had to do research for writing. However this can be applied to everyday life so to speak.In life we tend to do the things listed above without being open to new ideas. We also tend to believe what is put in front of us so to speak and not look further into the situation.
MM: I feel she is trying to analyze the Rhetorical analysis and gaps that we tend to fall into while researching. Understanding this will help me to gather research more effectively and gain more useful information by applying her findings and claims.
